I was delighted to be invited to sing at H.O.M.E – a fine dining restaurant and jazz club in Beverly Hills with LOMAX & The Boppin’ Institute big band on March 4th, 2016. Nothing beats the sound of a big band with its energy and power and these guys can swing! I’m always impressed by the musicianship of some of these big band members. They can literally sight read the charts and give a flawless performance first time around. You don’t alway get the chance to rehearse, especially when being invited to sit in for a night, so it’s a pleasure to play with accomplished musicians such as those in The Boppin’ Institute big band.
They have a regular spot at H.O.M.E so you can catch them each month and maybe sometime I’ll be back to sing a few more tunes.
The evening was MC’d by the illustrious Liz Lomax who did a wonderful job of warming the crowd and keeping things running oh so smoothly.
