#Rio2016 – Brazil here we come! Contrabanda Jazz, Recife – Guest Vocalist
Ola! A long time dream is coming true and I am heading to Brazil for a holiday. I’ll be traveling to the city of Recife to visit family and have been invited to sing with Contrabanda Jazz, a local Brazilian band playing a mixture of jazz, pop, latin and of course those wild, trance like Brazilian rhythms. Check out the video following.
I consider myself very fortunate to have this opportunity and to connect with and play with some of the musicians that my father, drummer Tony Hopkins knew from his time in Brazil. I’m also very grateful for Myres Hopkins for making this a reality.
More details of when and where to be posted. Stay tuned and keep the music alive.
I’ll be traveling from Los Angeles Sept 8th and in Recife for one glorious week! Then back to Rio for a few days before heading back to LA. While there, I’m hoping to see Corcovado, The Copacabana and The Girl From Ipanema’s granddaughter. It’s a fun way to travel around and see sights based on songs that have been written. Keep an eye out for the pineapples on my head. 😉
