It’s been a while since I posted a blog and as always, so much has happened since the last time I wrote. First of all, a warm welcome to 2021. I hope if you are reading this, that you are well.

2020 was a very introspective year. So much was happening around the world due to the health situation. So many things changed. Live music was hit the hardest, especially here in Los Angeles, the heart of entertainment!

It became harder and harder to play live and so as we are adaptable beings, many of us turned to writing, learning, live streaming concerts and whatever we could do to keep the creative flow going. A wee note that I’m upgrading this site as well, so you may see some changes and I hope not too much disruption, but it is time for a refresh!

I’m grateful to have a home studio setup so I can practice, further my keyboard skills, I re-united with my flute, learned more about Pro Logic X and recording. I also worked behind the scenes in more of marketing role supporting other musicians to get their music out. More about that later on another blog post.

I’m a marketer by day and a licensed realtor in California. KatwalkProperty.com if you’re ever looking to buy or sell. My main reason for the license is to learn more about renovations and get involved with house flipping. So yes, I do some other things as well as being a singer in Los Angeles and doing live music performances. There are so many talented musicians in Los Angeles, we really are spoiled. I am proud of my New Zealand jazz roots and Australian Jazz that I grew up with.

Angela O’Neill who is a friend of mine has her own band, Angela O’Neill and the Outrageous8. I do their marketing, website, mailing and help with the live streams and live concerts. We had a fun year doing block parties and then moved to live stream events. We setup band swag now available at their online store on the website AND started a record label, Outrageous8 Records.

Angela approached me about doing an album and I’m excited to say that I accepted and we are now in the early planning stages for that. More about that on another blog. But I will say, its going to involve my musical family in Brazil. I am very excited about that.

So for me 2021 is going to be a creative year and while so much is happening around the world, my focus is going to be on creating more.

Much love to all and here’s to a creative 2021 and beyond.

Arohanui always
